I tried replacing my GPU and had to remove the USB 3.0 port. I bent a couple of pins while doing it, which caused the plastic casing to detach. Since I already have more ports elsewhere, I’m not worried about the USB 3.0 anymore. But because the pins are bent, I’m unsure if I should leave them in or replace the housing. I’m considering leaving them as is, but there’s a risk of shorts. Should I keep the pins exposed or remove them?
It looks like the pins remain bent, which could affect performance. Since they’re not heating properly and dust isn’t collecting, it might be shorting out the circuit. This could damage your board if not addressed.
Avoid warming it up, and you'll need a lot of dust to fry it properly, which should work out.
