Hey Guys So a few days ago, I updated my Laptop from Windows 10 1607 to Windows 10 1909. Since then i have many issues with my laptop. The RAM usage stays over 60% even at idle. It hurts the gaming performance significantly as i play esports games with it. It has 6GB ram(Very unusual config). I had experienced several times crash after that update. Like when i use OBS or XSplit(Vcam too). It really annoys me. It doesn't happen on my other Systems. so guys, help me solving this issue. Laptop specs Lenovo Ideapad 310 Intel Core i5 7200u 6GB ram Geforce 920m 1tb hdd My other pc(this doesn't have this issue) Ryzen 5 3600X 16GB ram RTX 2070 super 1tb 970 evo 2X 4tb 860 evo

Did you determine which service or operation is causing the high RAM consumption? You can locate this information using the resource monitor or task manager.

Verify the resource manager or task manager, and consider running a complete system virus scan.

Refer to the task manager while you're there. Also verify the startup programs since they can consume a lot of RAM if many are active. It's also important to note that 6GB isn't a large amount, which explains why this problem doesn't occur on your system with 10GB more. On my 16GB desktop, idle usage stays between 3-4GB, placing it around 60% of the 6GB, and my 8GB laptop also idles near 3-4GB.

Sure, I’d aim for at least eight if sixteen isn’t available.

I have obtained the license for free and scanned the file. No malware detected. In Task Manager, memory usage stays above 60% consistently. I didn’t include a screenshot of Task Manager in this message. Even after uninstalling several apps, it didn’t help.

No unusual activity detected on the device. I missed attaching a screenshot of Task Manager during this upload, hehe. CPU, drive, GPU etc. remain under 10%, except RAM which stays above 60% after the update. My old PC with 4GB RAM maintains around 30% usage.

I understand handling the task manager. Only Dolby tray icon and Conexant tray icon are active at startup. RAM consumption was much lower before the update. Now it uses a lot of memory.

The program that consumes around 60% of memory is likely a resource-heavy application. If it’s using approximately 3 GB of RAM, it might be worth trying to reinstall Windows to free up space.
