Since switching from Windows 10 to 11, my CPU performance has noticeably improved. Previously, even during gaming, usage would reach up to 5% maximum. In Windows 10, similar games showed around 30% usage. Recently, usage has increased significantly—sometimes hitting 50% in titles like Metro Exodus Enhanced at ultra settings at 1440p. The previous day saw much lower activity. I've also checked other games and observed a consistent rise in CPU demand. I use GeForce Experience for tracking, and the Task Manager reveals brief spikes followed by a drop. Could any recent Windows 11 updates be contributing to this change?

Only a small portion during gameplay? Which CPU model are you using? A possible explanation for more frames per second might relate to greater CPU load. Have you turned off any synchronization features or perhaps disabled a frame cap?

I own a 12700k but noticed comparable readings with my 10400f prior to upgrading. No adjustments were made. CPU load was minimal before, now it's higher. Frame rate remains unchanged. 144.

I've observed the game bar displaying significantly reduced CPU usage, suggesting Nvidia may have updated how GeForce Experience tracks consumption. Confirmation is available.

Use hwinfo64 to track your stats, your numbers seem wrong at 10 or 11. Disable the Nvidia perf overlay—it's producing a lot of useless data. Also turn off the gamebar overlay.
