I'm concerned about a potential bottleneck. Is that accurate? Your specs are: i7 920 (stock boost), EVGA GTX 750 SC GPU, Asus P6T motherboard, 500W bronze PSU, 6GB RAM at 1066MHz.

In many cases the GPU handles more work than the CPU. Improving the GPU usually boosts performance, but will it fit your budget?

Not only focused on avoiding delays, but my upgrade ideas include an I7 990X Plus with extra memory, a new GPU, and possibly liquid cooling.

GPU handling potential, CPU remains unstressed. If the roles reversed—CPU at 80-100% and GPU at 25-40%—it would clearly point to a CPU limitation.

Remarkable! The i7 920 still impresses even after all these years. Particularly when compared to its debut in 2008, especially with a 2014 GPU.
