I've been experiencing occasional stutters lately, so I checked my event logs to see what might be causing it. After turning on my MSI afterburner, the GPU usage reads 99%, even though I'm not playing any games right now. When I opened Task Manager and looked at my computer's activity, I didn't spot anything unusual consuming processing power. Anyone know why this might be happening?
No, there are no folding or mining processes active at this time.
Consider downloading the Silent Mining virus from here: https://www.malwarebytes.org/. Perform a complete scan to check for any threats. (The process might take an hour or two, but it’s worth the effort.)
I have a total defense security program, so I'll attempt to check for any viruses.
total defense relies heavily on questionable security measures. I suggest switching to a reputable antivirus like Avast or AVG, which are free and more reliable. It also performs poorly at detecting unwanted programs and adware, and bitcoin miner malware is flagged as potentially unwanted.
It's a plus that the items came with little cost since I bought a lot of hardware for my setup. They handed it over for free because I spent around $1000 on components.
