I’ve been struggling with a new build for about half a week. I’ve tried all possible solutions. All my components arrived and the assembly went smoothly. Once connected, everything worked until I entered BIOS settings—pressing Del or F2 didn’t help with the keyboard. I tested three different keyboards but none functioned. The only way to access BIOS is through a hardware swap or removing the CMOS battery and powering down. After turning it off, I returned to the same setup. I’ve removed every component except one RAM stick in each slot, swapped the GPU, used a fresh CMOS battery, changed keyboards and mice, unplugged and reinserted everything, including the CPU, three BIOS updates, and thoroughly reset all connections. Essentially, I disassembled and reassembled the PC. I’ve built several computers before and never faced such confusion… If anyone has any advice or workarounds, I’d really appreciate it.

After setting up RAID, VMD options need matching interface types to prevent problems. Press F1 to continue and enjoy ASUS optimized performance! If you follow Intel guidelines and stick to stock power limits, turn off the ASUS Multicore Enhancement (MCE) in the BIOS. Next, go into the UEFI menu and press F1 to run SETUP. Make sure your display settings match your interface type. For best results, disable MCE in BIOS if you want to follow Intel recommendations. The system runs smoothly with the PSU: Corsair RM750e, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x16GB, SSD: Solidigm P41 Plus, M.2: 1TB, case: LianLi Lancool 216x RGB, GPU: ASUS RTX 4070 Dual OC, and AIO: Corsair H100 XR Elite.**
Ensure the keyboard is linked via a USB 2.0 port, as certain motherboards perform better with USB 2.0 devices during BIOS setup. Test each USB controller on your board and verify the headers are properly connected, since this could be the issue. Disassemble the PC and reassemble it outside the case on an insulating surface such as wood or cardboard. Connect only the necessary parts: CPU, cooler, one RAM stick, GPU (if no built-in graphics), and power supply. This approach helps avoid grounding or short-circuit problems inside the case. Some boards support PS/2 keyboards in BIOS—check for a PS/2 port and use a compatible keyboard to enter BIOS settings.
Razor huntsman v2 tkl, Corsair k60 and Logitech k120 were tested. I attempted BIOS mode for the k60 and used the Windows key lock feature. It seems this likely isn’t a keyboard problem but possibly a compatibility or hardware issue—maybe missing components or insufficient RAM/motherboard.
I changed off the power supply and waited an hour before accessing BIOS. After another restart I faced the same problem. I unplugged again and fully discharged the system, then got back into Windows after installation. Once I rebooted, I couldn’t get past the press del or F2 options. After another PSU reset I reinstalled ASUS drivers, but it still locked me out after a reboot. This suggests either a faulty PSU or motherboard. The CMOS battery change and reset didn’t fix the issue well. Could a faulty memory chip be contributing to this problem?
