We have an ISP router/access point combo downstairs that works well overall, but has trouble connecting some upstairs areas. One room upstairs has an Ethernet port linked to my PC, while others don’t. You’re looking for a suitable access point, plus a switch so your PC stays wired and connected. Your current speeds are 300Mbps, so a gigabit switch would be ideal. You’re aiming for something around £100 total. Thanks ahead. Edit: I’ve checked Amazon for suggestions—NetGEAR splitter, TP-Link, and Ubiquiti options. Let me know your thoughts.

I rely on Google WiFi, which is affordable on the second-hand market. Every node in the mesh can connect either wired or wirelessly. The home features one MoCA line for internet access; I haven’t set up Ethernet. Here’s the setup I use – it functions smoothly: ISP Modem → Wired Parent Node → Media Server 1st Wireless Node → 5 Port Switch → Desktop, VoIP Phone, Smart TV 2nd Wireless Node → Desktop. You can connect your PC via the Ethernet port on Google WiFi without needing a switch. For other needs, I use a TP-Link TL-SG105 switch.
