Hey there! So I'm thinking about a potential upgrade for my Ryzen 5600x. I'm considering moving to a 5800X3D, but I'm not sure if the improvements are worth it or if it's better to invest in something else right now. Usually, I stick to 1440p-164hz or 4k60, and sometimes VR. But I do play some CPU-intensive games... It isn't a pressing need since my current titles run smoothly. Still, I think issues like occasional stutters in games such as Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, or Flight Simulator could be fixed with this upgrade. Maybe next year I'll revisit it. Not a good time to switch—changing the board and RAM would be tough and probably not worth it soon. What do you think? Is this a solid upgrade or should I save my money for something else? Also, how would your cooling system handle the heat from a 5800X3D? My current setup with Artic Cooling Freezer 34 e-sports DUO seems fine for now, and my OC settings are well-adjusted. What's your take?

I own a comparable setup with less RAM and an RTX 4080, paired with a 4K monitor at 144Hz. I’m not planning to assemble a brand-new PC, as that would require swapping the motherboard and reinstalling Windows. With the budget available, I could upgrade to a 5800X3D graphics card and 32GB of RAM. Honestly, I’m confident I can maintain 90+ frames per second at 4K with my current RTX 4080. You might want to watch YouTube comparisons of these CPUs in games—resolution changes usually don’t make a big difference outside of certain titles. I’ve decided not to pursue it right now, but based on quick searches, the gap is more noticeable in simulation games like Flight Simulator. So it could be worth considering if you really don’t want to build a completely new system in the next couple of years.
