Upgrading your PC to a Ryzen 7 5800X
Upgrading your PC to a Ryzen 7 5800X
Checking the 5700X compatibility, do you require an 850-watt PSU or can 750 suffice? Additionally, if you plan to overclock for a performance closer to the 5800X, will the process be overly complex and could it cause the 5700X to overheat similarly?
Unless you have a 4080 or higher, you don't need 850W; 750W is sufficient.
OC isn't too tricky—just ensure you have a suitable CPU cooler and adequate case airflow so the CPU stays cool.
The price gap between the 5700x, 5800x, and 5800x3d models stays within £15. Pick the 5800x3d—it's still one of the best gaming CPUs available. Consider getting a solid Corsair RMx/RMe 750-850w. Choosing the right chip will keep you competitive for another few years.
Can't modify the CPU since it's already purchased by my friend, who needs to return from the USA in a few days. He can't get it back, so I can't order another one. Even $100 makes a big difference when converted to rupees (8000 rupees), and we Indians are really sensitive to prices.
Yes, actually that was my decision before switching to the TD500 Mesh V2. I chose Cooler Master because they are a well-known brand in India and Lian Li doesn’t offer customer support there. The CPU cooler I’m planning to use for my build also lacks support locally, so I’m taking a risk but it’s more expensive than the case, making the case a more costly bet.
I neglected to mention this update, the PC upgrade is complete. Please find the configuration below. Thank you all for your assistance.
