Hey, in short, my new MSI x870-e Ti Edge stopped working because the USB ports on the back stopped responding, and I faced boot problems. I sent it back to Amazon for a full refund. Now I’m unsure whether to switch to an ASUS x870-A Strix or stick with the white theme and go for the x870E Crosshair Hero. I’ve used ASUS or MSI before, and neither has caused issues for me. The main reason I’m considering the Hero is the Realtek 5G port, but there might be other advantages too. What do you think?

You should only consider your motherboard based on what you truly need, as many options are overpriced for everyday use.

Requires at least three 2.5G LAN slots since SATA drives are no longer available. Needs a minimum of 2.5G LAN speed. Additional features are optional. Current setup uses the 9950X3D CPU and a 5090 GPU. Primarily used for mapping systems and design software, with LAN essential for accessing the NAS for large files. Occasional gaming use; this is my first PC upgrade since the X99 5960X era.

For your needs of 3+ M.2 slots and 2.5Gb LAN, alternatives exist that cost a third of the X870E Hero while maintaining the all-white design. Explore these options for a more budget-friendly setup.
