Upgrading your CPU setup Install new processor modules for your system
I attempt to use any USB Windows installer and encounter a blue screen of death.
I'm testing another board right now. I currently have two identical ASUS boards, and putting the CPU in either one doesn't work. Maybe the motherboard isn't providing enough power, the chipset is faulty, or something else is the issue. Anyone have advice on using a Z77 or Z68 motherboard?
I used two distinct ASUS boards right now, both identical. I don’t have another LGA 1155 board available. I’ve tested two different power supplies so far, but I’m still unsure. It’s worth noting that both boards came from old PCs and are compatible with my i5 3470. The issue seems to occur only with the i7 models.
I received feedback from someone claiming it functions. Now I can access the BIOS and identify the i7 processor along with other parts. When does the PC begin booting and display a warning about an unsupported boot device when none is connected?
It seems the setup process isn't working because the installer doesn't utilize any part of the current installation. The CMOS appears to be intact.
