Hi guys! I am currently rocking a Ryzen 5 1400, and while I'm decently happy with performance I was wondering if upgrading to something like a 3600 would be a nice increase in FPS. The games I am currently playing are Destiny 2, Minecraft, Apex Legends, Rocket League, and a bit of Fortnite (yes ik its hated, but i just play occasionally for fun) Also, I do some light editing (1080P) and streaming but I stream with NVENC and I am satisfied with my light editing performance so I just want to know for gaming only. I want to stay on my current motherboard (specs will be at end) and a 5600x is out of my budget, so will a 3600 be a good upgrade? Note: I do not currently have enough money for a 3600 so I am open to waiting for future processors to release if its in my best interest as it might take me a bit to save up more money as I am kind of close but a couple of months away. Switching from 2200G with a 1060 6g to a 3600 felt significant. It wasn't just about higher FPS—it also improved stability. Edit: just confirming on the popular forum, I thought the CPU performance was quite similar even though it was a bit stronger. To be clear, the 2200G had bottlenecks in some games, which completely disappeared. The 3600 doesn’t even hit bottleneck issues with a 3070 (probably only a few edge cases). ROTTR, 4K High settings... I’m actually hitting a GPU bottleneck and have to lower shadows to medium to maintain 60fps. The CPU isn’t really impressed by these kinds of challenges.
