Hey everyone, our friend is trying to upgrade his gaming laptop from Windows 8 Education to Windows 10 Pro. He bought the license at Kinguin.com and after installing Windows 10 Pro it changed the OS version from "Windows 10 Pro" to "Windows 10 Pro Education" in the control panel. Now he can't activate the system anymore. We've already talked to Kinguin and Microsoft, even asked a Microsoft representative to make a bootable USB, but nothing worked. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thanks! P.S.

We reached out to Microsoft a second time, and they informed us that the Windows version installed was wrong because we provided the installation ID. They confirmed the product key was valid.

Ensure you haven’t removed Win 8 Education and replaced it with Win 10 Pro. Perform a fresh installation, erase the drive, then reinstall Win 10 Pro and restart.
