Hi, I'm wondering if upgrading to a 5070 GPU is worth it, since BlackFriday is around the corner, it'd be about $615 for a Gigabyte Windforce OC 3.
CPU: 7 9800x3d
CPU cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
Motherboard: GIGABYTE X870 EAGLE WIFI7 (F6)
Ram: Team Group T-Create Expert DDR5-6000 - 32GB (2x16) - CL30
SSD/HDD: -
GPU: RX 5700 XT
PSU: Corsair RM750 Gold (2021)
Chassis: NZXT H510
OS: Win11
Monitor: 2x1080p (240hz/144hz) (25M2N3200W/-)
I mostly only play Competitive FPS games and VR games.
I've heard the 5070 has good raw performance but might be lacking a little in VRAM, also heard that waiting for the Super cards might not be reasonable since the price increase and how more expensive newer cards are away from their MSRP. So I'm wondering if this upgrade to 5070 12GB is sensible?
I'm not a fan of AMD GPUs due to their drivers, haven't had a good experience with them, so suggestions on the newer AMD cards will be a "no thank you".

Can you state what titles you tax the system with? If you're looking at 1440p, then yes the upgrade would be worthwhile.
Cards at launch aren't at MSRP and the trend is that by the time the prices come down, we're going to see another generation of cards show up.
I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a 5700 XT.
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Regarding drivers, your comments about amd cards are relevant. I should note though that earlier this year nvidia's driver issues were quite problematic.

I mainly use games such as Arc Raiders, Escape from Tarkov, CS2, BeatSaber, R6S X & Sea of Thieves to tax the system.
I’m not currently using 1440p, though I find it somewhat interesting.
And I also made an update to my post for my build.

I’ll share my take, but looking at it, 1440p looks like an ideal balance and offers one of the top visual improvements you can make. It’s also a great moment since affordable 1440p monitors with decent IPS are now available on sale. For instance, I saw a 27-inch model here: https://a.co/d/cmU5Agd
There’s plenty to choose from. But in my opinion, jumping from 1080p to 1440p really sharpens the picture quality.

I agree with this. 1440p on a 27-inch display provides an excellent compromise.
