Hi, I just purchased an i9 10900K with a Z490 frozen gaming motherboard. I’m new to CPU overclocking and need to reach 5.2GHz. There are many YouTube tutorials from Rog and Gigabyte, but the settings don’t match my board. Do you have any advice on how to overclock it?

Don't assume a 5.2ghz performance across all cores with hyperthreading. Real results depend heavily on cooling solutions. Bright marketing doesn’t reveal actual technical details, and there’s no clear information about VRM phases on the motherboard.

I’m unfamiliar with the specific motherboard you’re referring to, and I can’t locate reliable online guides for it. The only option to assist further would be providing photos of the EUFI BIOS.

Consider opening advanced mode (F11) and capturing images once more. This appears to be an issue.

The BIOS configurations differ from standard versions. I rely on software to adjust turbo ratios. Here’s an illustration: a 52 multiplier applies when up to ten cores are running. In the BIOS, the first Turbo Ratio Limit Core0 should be set to 10, while all others remain at 0. The goal is for the CPU to maintain a consistent multiplier regardless of active cores—whether one, five, or all ten are engaged. For Turbo Ratio Limit Ratio0, set it to 52 and leave the rest at zero. This multiplier is the key factor. The default voltage tends to be stable enough for booting despite generating significant heat. What cooling solution do you employ? A solid AIO is usually necessary to keep the CPU running at this power level. For reference, the default BIOS settings for a 10850K resemble this pattern. As more cores activate, the multiplier decreases: below two cores it drops to 52, three to 50, five to 49, and ten to 48. If you miss these adjustments in BIOS, the CPU may disregard your changes. I believe the 10900K defaults are slightly higher than the 10850K, using ratios of 53, 51, 50, 49. The ten-core models behave differently from earlier eight-core designs, though the new Turbo Groups are straightforward once understood. Did you activate F11 while using OC or Advanced? If the result matches the current view, it doesn't matter. The content present seems unhelpful. I recommend returning to Normal advanced next to OC and reviewing all available options. I think this is the correct location now.
