Upgrading OS from an old PC to a new one...?
Your operating system on your old PC might remain intact if you reuse the Windows 8.1 retail key, but ensure it’s compatible with your new hardware.
If the price is reasonable, you can reuse it on another computer.
Just in case, it might secure your new PC.
This means you're asking for clarification about what is happening if something fails to activate.
Oh :L
Each Windows license grants one PC. The activation key must be used on just one device at a time.
Isn't this an original equipment manufacturer part? (Sorry, I'm not very familiar with operating systems or their purposes.)
All Windows licenses are limited to one PC per license. Retail licenses can be shared, which is their main advantage.
If you trust them, then thats one route you can take.
