Upgrading my Intel i5 6700K to a higher-end i7 7700K model

I just bought an i7 7700k, which is the top CPU I can get for my current motherboard (Asus Mark 2 TUF Z270). I haven’t changed CPUs before, so do I need to install drivers or anything? The board already has the latest BIOS, and otherwise I’m not sure what else I should do. Thanks for your help everyone!

Make sure you install the newest BIOS and insert it, then everything should work fine.

Isn't the 6700k similar to an i7? The 6600 is actually an i5.

Avoid purchasing a 7700K if your system runs at 6700K. It's essentially the same CPU but with a higher clock speed of 400MHz.

Avoid purchasing a 7700k model for $200. A Ryzen 1600AF costs $85 while a B450 motherboard is available new for $70-80. You might opt for a pre-owned B350 or B450 for $50-60, saving money with two extra cores. Alternatively, upgrade to the Ryzen 5 3600 around $175 for significantly improved performance.

Seriously, wait until you have some savings and get a Ryzen 5 4600. The i5 will still work fine, but upgrading to a CPU three times faster would be a better move than just a 15-20% improvement.
