Upgrading i7-6700 non-K using BCLK overclocking
Hello everyone,
I own an i7-6700 (non-k) CPU paired with a B150m Mortar motherboard. The system supports up to 2133 Hz on DDR4 RAM, and I currently have two Crucial modules at that frequency.
I found some advice suggesting possible overclocking via BCLK overclocking. I have a few concerns:
1. Is this a secure method for overclocking?
2. With the stock cooler and MX-4 thermal paste, will it suffice to reach around 200 MHz overclock above the turbo boost speed?
3. Do I need a special BIOS for my MSI motherboard?
Thank you!

You could attempt adjusting the bclk setting. If successful, you'll need to purchase a different aftermarket CPU cooler rather than the standard one for overclocking.
