Good afternoon everyone
I’m working with an X570 Aorus Master equipped with a 3700X. Yesterday I completed the BIOS update from F11 to F38, and after some issues it’s now running smoothly.
My main storage is an Aorus M.2 card with 256GB, which is quite limited. I’m using Windows 10.
The problem arises when I try to disable CSM and enable Secure Boot in BIOS—I end up directly back in the BIOS without booting into Windows. I think this is because my current Windows setup is an older MBR version instead of a GPT/UEFI one.
I plan to replace the existing Aorus drive with a new one, likely a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, and install a fresh Windows 11 installation on that drive. I’ll remove the old card entirely.
Additionally, I want to upgrade the 3700X to a 5700X, which is why I’m updating the BIOS rather than just enabling TPM.
Anyone have advice on how to proceed with the drive and OS installation while dealing with this BIOS/Secure Boot situation?
Thank you for your time.

I also plan to upgrade the 3700X to a 5700X, which means updating the BIOS instead of just enabling TPM.
Please reset the fTPM key after installing the new processor.
Could you let me know the necessary steps for a smooth drive/OS installation while considering the CSM/Secure Boot problem?
I need to recreate your Windows 11 bootable USB, remove all other drives except the one for OS installation, disable CSM in BIOS, and then install the OS on the larger SSD.
I intend to replace the existing Aorus drive with a new primary drive, such as a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, and perform a clean Windows 11 installation from that drive.

For a smooth drive/OS setup, especially considering the CSM/Secure Boot concerns, follow these steps: rebuild your Windows 11 installer for a USB drive, remove all other drives except the one you want to install the OS on, disable CSM in BIOS, and then install the OS onto the bigger SSD. For the new primary drive—such as a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB—I recommend formatting it completely (removing all partitions) and installing Windows 11 there. Regarding your 256GB drive, check if anything else besides the OS is installed. If you intend to use it for gaming, the larger SSD can serve as your game library, while the OS, apps, and launchers stay on the smaller drive.

Lutfij, thank you for your response.
I was expecting the F38 BIOS update to automatically enable TPM by default. Do you know anything about Aorus motherboards? I need to look into that.
Appreciate the detailed installation steps—they really helped.
I’m considering formatting the drive carefully. My plan is to keep just one internal drive and use an external one for backup. I play games mostly occasionally, mainly WoW, so I’ll think it over further.
