On my HP Pavilion DV6 3010AX (AMD-Ati laptop), drivers under Ubuntu often cause issues until I successfully install it. It requires significant time and patience to ensure the graphics drivers function properly.

Vista is active. I’ve observed it functions similarly to Windows 7 Vista by verifying the bootable HDD first before installing the boot loader, resulting in it starting from the 20GB drive while the 60GB drive contains all the Windows files.

I could help you set up Vista. I just reduced my system partition to create space for another operating system installation.

It seems HDDs perform significantly better than Windows 7, yet many still choose it. Updates are being installed, but the 'snap to screen' feature of Windows 7 doesn't seem to be a strong reason for people sticking with it.

All points confirmed. Vista needs more upkeep than Win7—it tends to become heavy if you don’t clean regularly and run CCleaner—but it’s really quick! Since your keys are Ultimate, give a try to dreamscene. There are still many "Dreams" available on different sites.

After upgrading from XP to 7, I stopped doing my regular cleanup and defrag. It looks like I should treat it more like Windows ME, especially if you keep defragging it often. For dreamscenes, the site I usually use is http://dreamscene.org/, though it keeps asking me to enable Java in Chrome Linux. Edit 2: Windows Vista is still looking for updates.

I previously configured CCleaner to run a routine cleanup at startup, handling tasks like cookie removal automatically. This significantly reduced the effort involved. Since you're using an HDD, occasional defragmentation will still be necessary, though you can enable weekly automatic runs. Dreamscene.org is a solid starting point. Wincustomize could also be a viable alternative at http://www.wincustomize.com/dream

I haven't visited the site in a long time. It's been a while since I last checked it out.
