Hi everyone. I'm a budget gamer and this Christmas I've managed to save some cash, thinking about upgrading my rig. Current setup: CPU is an i7-3770 (not overclocked), motherboard is Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2, RAM includes one 8GB stick and a salvaged 4GB stick at 1333MHz, GPU is Zotac GTX 1650, Super SSD is 4GB Crucial MX500, 500GB HDD, PSU is SilverStone Strider Essentials. These components are pretty outdated, so I'm mainly focusing on the CPU, motherboard, and RAM trio. Around $265 I could buy: - i3-10100f - ASUS Prime H410M-H V3 - HyperX Beast 2x8GB @ 3200MHz. I'm mostly playing Dota 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, and want to try new titles like Elden Ring. I also enjoy singleplayer games. I've upgraded from i3-3220 to i5-3470 and now to this i7-3770. The FPS improvements seem to come mainly from the CPU cores and threads. Please let me know: - Will there be a big jump in game FPS or overall system speed between the i3-10100f and i7-3770? I assume both have 4 cores and 8 threads, but I'd appreciate any insight. - Is the 11th generation Intel i3 model coming soon? Should I hold off until it releases? - How important is the RAM difference beyond just size? - Should I go for slower, cheaper memory instead of upgrading? Since the i3-10100f tops out at 2666MHz, is that a big deal? - What impact does moving to a new SSD have on performance compared to my current one? - Is this a good value? Are there better options like an i5-9400f or R5 2600 (still more costly in my region)? Should I stick with the i7-3770? - If I decide, can I upgrade to a 144Hz monitor later?
