5800x offers better efficiency and PCIe 4.0 compatibility, making it a more forward-looking choice compared to 10700K. I mostly rely on it for gaming, YouTube, and sometimes Folding@home on both CPU and GPU. Should I upgrade from 10700K to 5800X for these tasks, or hold off until next-gen processors arrive?

It doesn't make sense to upgrade. The 5800X is an improvement, but with a 10700K you have no need for another upgrade.

You probably won't see a change. The 5800X is better for a fresh build, but swapping it for a 10700K isn't justified.

The 10700k runs about 5-8% slower, yet your powerful 8-core, 16-thread CPU should keep it running smoothly for another 3 years or longer.
