I recently switched to a 3700x from a 3600x. I paid $150 for the 3600x and the full price for the 3700x. I’m thinking about whether to keep it or return it and spend the money elsewhere. I’d like to upgrade my GPU, but my current setup has a 1080 Ti with water cooling, so I can’t just install a GPU on it right now.
The 1080 Ti offers nearly the same performance as a 2080 Super, making the difference subtle. A 3600X is only slightly better than a 3700X in gaming, but it could matter more for productivity tasks. I recommend swapping the 3700X for a 3600, save the cash for upcoming AMD or GeForce GPUs. I have the funds and won’t upgrade to a 2080Ti since it’s too expensive for my needs.
