Upgraded to RGB RAM and hmm...
I upgraded my PC with two sets of HyperX Fury RGB RAM sticks, aiming to enhance the visual experience. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions to activate XMP profiles and adjusted the voltage settings manually. After rebooting, the system initially displayed a long beep sequence before resetting itself. Once back online, I opened Task Manager and noticed my RAM speed dropped to 2400MHz. I experimented by swapping stick counts and reapplying XMP settings, but the issue persisted with both configurations. My current setup runs on an MSI B450 A-Pro board, and I’m seeking advice from others who might have encountered similar problems.
2x8gb x2 ≠ 4x8gb...the claimed rate was only verified with a single RAM stick...please consider getting a 4x8gb setup next time...also review the compatibility chart on the motherboard's website...those entries are validated by the manufacturer...take a look.
Hey... I was expecting the same performance with four 8GB kits, but it turned out differently. Also, based on ShrimpBrine's advice, the highest frequency I can use is 2666 without triggering the beep. That seems better than the default settings. Will there be a noticeable boost in productivity between 2666 and 3200? I’m sure it might add a few FPS here and there in games.
