Good afternoon everyone! I hope everything is going well with your setups. I’m reaching out because something seems off, but I’m not sure what exactly is happening. Recently, I changed from a 2070 Super to a 4070 Ti (both from Gigabyte), yet my gaming performance hasn’t improved and it feels slower. Here’s what I have: Windows 10, 64-bit BIOS (American Megatrends Inc., version 5809, dated March 20, 2020), a 1440p GPU from GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with 8 cores at 3.80 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM from Corsair Vengeance, an ASUS Prime X470-Pro ATX motherboard, an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 GA 750W power supply (80+ Gold certified), a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD, and monitors like the DELL S2417DG (1440p, 165 Hz) and Acer SB220Q (1080p, 60 Hz).

Could a bottleneck be causing the problem? I checked the power supply and it seems sufficient. All components appear compatible via PCPartPicker except for a BIOS flash needed to install the CPU. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

FPS measurements typically range from 30 to 60 frames per second in many games. Examples include titles like "Fortnite," "Valorant," and "Apex Legends." The mention of a slower feel could relate to performance issues or lower settings.

Did you remove your graphics drivers prior to swapping out the card?

We can't answer about your feelings, you should give fps figures to make any claim we can talk about

I didn’t do it before. Would I be able to handle this with the new GPU? Or would I need to stick with the old one? Thanks. It’s sorry I didn’t log my FPS earlier—I usually get around 70-80 FPS in Escape From Tarkov, but now I’m stuck at 60 or less with the same settings.

Consider removing the existing graphics drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller, then download and install the newest ones from Nvidia. You won't need to reinstall the old card.

It's extremely unusual to hit 60 FPS at 1440p with low settings on a 4070Ti. Did you miss a performance cap or sync point? You should be seeing over 200 FPS.

My FPS cap in the game is at 120. I wondered if Tarkov wouldn't be a good reference because it's still in beta...

The 2000 series behaves quite differently from the 4000 series. If you haven’t removed your graphics drivers before switching to new ones, you might run into problems. It’s usually wise to perform a DDU uninstall of your display drivers prior to installing new ones for the updated card.

Use DDU to remove the existing GPU driver fully, then set up the newest version from NVIDIA.
