To keep things clear, use ECC or RECC memory whenever stability is crucial, since it truly deserves the extra cost Bit flips aren’t easily fixed by fast timing—they’re unpredictable and require ECC support.

I'm not debating, but if I wanted to ensure the stability you're mentioning, I'd skip the older machine and invest in a new Threadripper setup with ECC and server-grade SSDs. Right now I'm focusing on managing risks through probability analysis since my needs often require repeated changes. This way, any random bit errors will show up clearly in the results. If problems arise later, I'll contact the vendor for warranty support after a detailed check. Secure boot is typically enabled, though I've disabled it during the upgrade. I'm planning to upgrade the GPU eventually.

This approach is highly risky. Constructing a bridge intended for 1000kg while ignoring hidden weaknesses could be problematic. A simple “test pass” doesn’t guarantee the absence of deeper problems. It’s likely that something underlying was exposed only after the test, yet OP has become disheartened and hesitant to rely on such methods. OP’s memtest doesn’t exceed the limits defined by your memory specs—it merely verifies its ability to perform as intended in every situation. Nothing extra or less.

I’m just confirming this to clear things up, but it doesn’t alter the fact that I shouldn’t run it unless something goes wrong. As discussed earlier, I executed Windows Memory Diagnostics — and based on its description, it matched what I needed.
