Upgraded system shutdown issue after launching a game.
I appreciate the effort you put into resolving this. I recently installed a new PC and have encountered some unusual behavior when closing games. System details: Ryzen 5600X processor, Gigabyte GTX 2080 graphics card with 8GB RAM, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite motherboard, Lian Li Lancool II power supply, and an 850W PSU. When I close a game, my computer freezes. I can move the mouse and open tabs but can't use any software or launch new applications in Chrome. On Discord, I lose all communication with the channel. So far, I've tried several fixes: 1) Reassembled everything on the original build. 2) Initially used a 650W PSU, upgraded to 850W after realizing insufficient power. 3) Cleared and reinstalled all GPU drivers. Currently, I'm unsure what to try next. Temperatures from HWmonitor look normal, CPU stays below 65°C. It might be an AMD issue given the new Ryzen 5600X. I've also updated the CPU drivers. Thank you for your assistance.
The problem lies with the power supply unit. It wasn't a power-related issue—it was a quality concern. You likely received the gold 850W model, which is still considered an office PC PSU. Consider returning it and getting a higher-quality unit such as an RMA 750 or better.
This model is part of the RM series from Corsair, but I suggest this alternative option: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-heatsinks-Ax...ics&sr=1-3
