Upgraded System Hardware, performance less than my old config
Upgraded System Hardware, performance less than my old config
Hello.
I recently upgraded my mobo, ram, and CPU and have been doing some benchmarks on it for the last few days. Everything seemed a little slower than my last config, and my benchmark scores we're a little lower as well.
I tried doing a fresh install of windows but that did not seem to help much. I've checked for incompatibility issues but everything should be running fine. I have not wiped any drives, but done a windows "refresh". I guess that would be my next step but would like to avoid having to reinstall all my programs if possible. I will list my system specs below. (my old rig used the same PSU, and GPU)
Mobo: TUF Gaming B450 Plus
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb
RAM: Ballistix 16gb 2666mhz
PSU: Corsair VS650
Was going to ask the same thing, as well as what games, settings, and res.
Obvious to some, but not others, could be things like using higher settings with the new rig and still expecting more FPS. It's best to do an apples to apples comparison.
Here’s a rewritten version of the text, focusing on clarity and flow:
“I’m trying to understand why my computer performs differently in different tests. Specifically, I’ve noticed that when running benchmarks like Heaven, I get a lower score than expected. I'm also wondering if the number of processor cores plays a role in overall performance – perhaps it’s affecting other tasks or games. I primarily use Cinebench and Heaven for testing, and while my scores are lower than anticipated, I haven't conducted extensive gaming tests to pinpoint the cause. It seems like there might be something going on with the core count itself.”
That's a good start! Now, let’s continue building on this thought process and explore how we can refine our understanding of complex situations by systematically identifying and addressing the core issues involved.
