Hello, I'm checking out a modern PCI Splitter. My current setup uses a PCI 2.0 x1 splitter with a max speed of around 500MB/s, possibly even higher in practice. I need something that delivers about 8GB per second (like 2.0 x16, 3.0 x8, or 4.0 x4). If my motherboard supports PCI 4.0 x16 (32GB/s), I'd like to split it into four 4.0 x4 connections at 8GB each.

Which board is this? It supports PCIe bifurcation. Most of these components are for servers and aren't inexpensive, so it's usually better to use a CPU-based solution. Which devices are you attempting to run?

The gadget isn’t functioning as intended. It’s built for low-bandwidth GPU mining. Most likely, no device matching your needs currently exists. Solutions requiring more lanes or higher specs—like the server boards used for 8 GPUs—are meant for dedicated servers, not standard consumer rigs.

PCI 4 offers flexibility – it suits today’s tech users. Opinions on M2 2 PCI are welcome. Looking for a reliable PCI 4.0 server board? Let me know what you think.

I clearly mentioned they’re unable to perform what you intended, specifically 4x4x4x4x bifurcation. This isn’t something I’ve encountered on any consumer platform before. The device you referenced functions only if your motherboard supports bifurcation—it mainly routes the protocol without altering it. What kind of operations are you planning for this configuration? A cost-effective server board inquiry would need more specific information.
