Hello,
I've upgraded my GPU from a gtx 1070ti to a 3080 12gb and noticed my games are running poorly. For instance, in Rust I barely reach over 75fps and I feel some fps lag that causes the game to freeze during actions like shooting.
My other components include an I7-8086k processor with a Kraken x63 cooler, 16gb RAM at 2133mhz, and an 850W power supply (MSI mpg A850GF). I'm using a rogstrix Z370-H motherboard.
Could there be a way to improve Rust's performance?

Did you perform a fresh installation of the Nvidia drivers via DDU after replacing graphics cards? Even though both cards use comparable or identical Nvidia drivers, we frequently encounter registry or configuration issues when switching to new cards—especially when they belong to the same category. Clearing the drivers with DDU often resolves these problems.

Additionally, do you have the latest stable motherboard BIOS version installed? What current BIOS version is active? Have you made any hardware changes recently, and when was your most recent Windows clean installation?

Hello,
I completed a clean installation and attempted to update my BIOS. The system now reports a better performance, with rust appearing less severe.
The current BIOS is:
BIOS-version and -date: American Megatrends Inc. 2203, 7.10.2019
Prior to upgrading my GPU, I performed several changes including replacing the power supply, motherboard, RAM, CPU, and cooler. This was done around late 2020.

This appears to be a transfer of an operating system installation.
Whether you reinstalled Windows after switching motherboards depends on the situation.
It's generally advised to perform a complete OS installation when transitioning between platforms.

I meant by "reinstallation" different actions you might have taken during the setup. Were you performing a clean install, removing all existing partitions before installing on the empty space, or did you go through another process like refreshing, resetting, or restoring? Because if you didn’t delete the hidden EFI boot partition when selecting CUSTOM and removing certain partitions, remnants from the old installation could still be present, leading to potential issues.
