Hello. I'm seeking guidance on the value of AM4 processors. I recently replaced my motherboard due to problems but chose AM4 because upgrading the CPU and RAM exceeded my budget. AM4 is becoming outdated, so this will likely be the final upgrade for that series. Ideally, I want a performance boost lasting a few years. My current setup includes a Ryzen 3600 MSI B550 A Pro with 32GB DDR4 memory at 3200MHz, paired with the RX 6700XT graphics card. At present prices (around 5600-5700€), options range from roughly 99€ to 230€ depending on region and retailer. These prices cover the board, RAM, and GPU. Which option offers the best balance of performance and longevity for gaming and creative tasks?

At 230, the 5700X3D offers the top upgrade. Tray indicates a 90-day warranty, which isn't part of the retail deal. It's okay since I've used tray CPUs before—they match exactly. Staying on AM4 provides good value for the performance.

Tray/OEM refers only to the CPU without the retail case and heatsink fan. Are you checking used prices?

Increase the price of the 5600x by twice its original amount, without raising the performance level.

It could offer a decent price based on the regional market conditions.

It varies by game and what you're evaluating. Average frames per second, minimums, etc. Treating price versus performance linearly is incorrect. The 5700X3D offers the best value for the AM4 platform and should remain relevant longer than the 5600.

It varies by game, but overall performance is similar yet the cost is significantly higher. Here are some charts to help compare. Showing results beats just saying them. Is the extra 600FPS in Rainbow6 worth it for double the price? That depends on what you value most. I don’t believe a substantial performance boost justifies the higher cost here.

Nearby options are available at a reduced price of $160, while the 210 Euro version doesn’t seem to justify the cost. The best choices appear to be the lower and higher price points. The 5600 offers decent value, but it might not be enough to upgrade over the 3600. The 5700X3D remains a solid alternative.

5700x3d is the top choice. Do you have any other cooler options? The regular one isn’t sufficient, but a 15-20$ model is available. Are you thinking about upgrading to a better GPU soon?
