I upgraded my CPU from i7-6700 to i5 11400 and observed that its usage remains similar (about 60%) for both previous and new models during tasks like Valorant or CS:GO. My question is whether the newer CPU will lower usage or if it will be the same as before. If it’s the latter, does it just boost performance without affecting usage?

No, I assess both usage and the amount of information handled during each task along with its length.

The usage has no relevance without any stats tied to how much info the CPU handles. With missing details, its significance is nearly as low as half a math question.

Are you seeing improved results in those games? That’s likely due to increased CPU resources now being utilized by the game. In short, your usage is comparable, but you’re achieving a smoother or more consistent frame rate. Your aim should be this improvement. If performance declines despite similar resource use, there may be an underlying issue.
