I have the identical inquiry again; besides cost considerations, was there another reason for choosing the non-XT version? Would you think it wouldn't be worthwhile?

Chase the 5700X3D as you wanted; it’s practically the top gaming AM4 CPU available today.
It delivers superior 1% lows compared to other non-X3D models, and it’s easy to find.
For cooling solutions, options are plentiful—something like a Thermalright PA-120 will work well for under $40.
When it comes to the GPU, if the price difference is substantial, you’re comfortable with a 9070 over the XT as well at that point.

I chose it mainly because of the budget, but also since we're using 1080p, the price difference was too big for the small benefits. If you're a 4K gamer, then definitely pick the XT.

For gaming purposes alone, performance is likely limited. Including streaming or other multi-threaded tasks will enhance the benefits of the extra cores.

Thank you, I recently purchased the 5700X3D and will likely wait for the 9060 release before choosing the GPU (and then the PSU). Regarding cooling, is my current Noctua NH-U12S 55 Cooler (with one fan) sufficient, or should I consider upgrading?

I noticed that some of the recommended options had delivery delays at my place or changed between sold-out and available. I searched for alternatives, which should give me a selection in about a month or two. I found that certain PSUs, such as the Corsair RM850x (2024) 850 W, were flagged by Partpicker as possibly not compatible with the following components.

Warning: The Corsair RM850x (2024) 850 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not support a -12 V supply voltage. We couldn’t confirm if the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard needs it.

I checked the motherboard manual and forums, but didn’t find any details or similar issues reported by others. Do you know more about this?
