Upgrade your Windows 10 tablet for better performance and features.
You can get the x64 version for your Dell Venue 8 Pro. Since it has an Intel Atom Z3740D, you’ll need to download the Windows 10 x64 ISO from the official site. The upgrade process will depend on your specific hardware, so check compatibility before proceeding.
You'd need to perform a full reset, isn't it? That tablet is ARM-based, yes?
For a free upgrade, use the x86 version. To switch to x64, you'll need a corresponding key.
I would not go 64 bit if you're not upgrading ram (reality is that that's not possible in such a small tablet) There is literally no point. Also, Windows 109 has worse battery life (on my Surface Pro 3) so I'd stick with 8 until they can be arsed to fix it.
The location 8 uses ARM technology, yet the venue 8 pro is running Windows. That’s unfortunate, but I plan to proceed with the upgrade.
You can't upgrade via the small utility; a new installation is required. The x64 upgrade tool won't even launch.
I got in place quickly though. For upgrading, follow these steps: Download the Update Tool and save the ISO file (make sure it's the right version). Restart the tool and pick this PC in the update list. Choose to install as 64-bit, but select upgrade to keep your existing files. If Windows asks, enable it—usually it does automatically or not.
