I recently cleaned up a damaged old laptop and reinstalled Windows 10. My goal was to turn it into a projector laptop using some software. The program I bought doesn’t support the Spring Creators update for Windows 10. How can I upgrade from the Spring Creators version to the Anniversary Update? It would be simple, but I don’t have older versions of Windows to restore if needed.

The only place I've found this in is Windows Update – View Installed Update History – Uninstall Updates. I'm not sure it can restore everything after a complete update.

That is the thing, it was a fresh install so I have no update history to go back to.

From what I understand, it doesn’t seem like lowering the OS version is the way to go since you’d likely have to reinstall Windows with an older release.

Consider using the latest software release since older versions will likely become more problematic. Updating on Windows 10 can be tricky, but you can delay updates if needed and revert if necessary.
