Switching from Intel to Ryzen MB and CPU is feasible. You can use your existing Windows setup on the new components, but ensure compatibility. If needed, you may need to buy a compatible system.

They modified it. When I switched from 5960X to a Ryzen system, only the CPU, RAM, and motherboard changed, but my Windows key was deactivated. The support said each key is linked to the motherboard.

Yes, Linus has made mistakes before. I value him, but at the end of the day he's a person, and no one sold Linus any credibility. Your reaction feels personal. 2- It looks like I was mistaken because I received a free OEM key from work.

It relies on various factors. Such as the type of license, whether it's linked to an MS account, and if it comes from a business volume pack.

Connect your local account to a Microsoft account. Exchange the motherboard and CPU. Restart your existing setup and finish. If your Windows isn't activated, use the troubleshoot option. It's free, quick, and you'll notice the result.
