Hello everyone, I’m trying to upgrade ten Windows 7 machines to Windows 10 before support ends at year-end. I’m curious if there’s still a way to do this without wiping the data on the computers. I remember it was possible when Windows 10 was being rolled out, but I’m not sure if it’s available now. Thanks for any advice!

You can enable Win10 during installation if you possess the license keys for the Windows 7 systems. There seems to be no method mentioned to keep data after upgrading to Windows 7.

The free upgrade is still available (although not officially mentioned). And it should keep the data, but there's no guarantee everything will really be kept and work fine, so you should do a backup as always.

I’m not sure about the exact details, but you should look for the free upgrade option that supports Windows 10. It’s likely available through the official website or app store, ensuring the Accounts software remains functional on those devices.

Select "create Windows 10 installation media" and utilize the generated media for upgrades. For more details, refer to the article on ZDNet about obtaining a free Windows 10 upgrade.

These are ready-made systems from major OEMs such as Dell and HP, or those available at the time of the Get Windows 10 app release. If yours qualifies, your upgrade to Windows 10 is free. Otherwise, you must buy Windows 10. Keep in mind that running the enterprise edition requires checking with your volume license provider.
