You're using an HDD with lots of data, and you're curious about moving everything to an SSD. The process involves formatting the SSD, transferring files, and possibly upgrading your OS. For a transfer, you'll need to back up important data first, then use tools like Windows Disk Management or third-party software to move partitions. If you decide to buy an SSD, ensure it's compatible with your system and consider factors like capacity, speed, and compatibility with your current drivers.

Insert the SSD into your setup Install macrum reflect and then duplicate it onto the SSD (it's quite straightforward) Configure the SSD as the primary boot drive, and everything should work fine.

Macrium Reflect enables you to duplicate or create a copy of the drive for migration. The adapter is required to link the SSD with the PC during the process. Copying files from the HDD to the SSD would not preserve the MBR or MFT. Having the OS installer available is useful but usually not essential if done properly.
