Hey everyone, I’m trying to upgrade my motherboard but have some confusion. My Windows 10 is an OEM version, and I’m wondering how to switch it to the new one. I saw a reactivation key on the Microsoft forum and want to know if that works. Also, my old board should still work after the switch—I plan to refurbish it and sell it, so a buyer might install a different OS. Any tips or advice would be super helpful!

The OEM license for Windows cannot be transferred from a motherboard, which explains the lower cost. You’ll have to buy a new license, I think.

Stefan Payne is correct. Also, the same queries were posed nearly every day. It seems no one uses the search feature here.

Alright, give it a shot. If it functions well, that's good. If not, you'll notice a watermark on your desktop over time and certain customization options will remain off until the system is turned on.
