Hello, yes you need a compatible motherboard. Make sure it matches your CPU, GPU, and RAM. It should be the same model as your current one or a compatible build. This information was edited on January 5, 2020 by Adrian1482.

For any board matching your CPU, GPU, and RAM setup, you're good to go
Unless it's a ready-made system, then it works as long as it fits your hardware specs

It was ready-made, so I need the identical motherboard? Why can’t it be another model that fits my parts if it’s already built?

The limiting issue might stem from mismatched layouts of mobos and screw holes, along with the PSU you have. Some models use 18-pin instead of the standard 24-pin. In that scenario, replacing the PSU and case could be necessary. The rest of the components like CPU, RAM, and GPU should still function properly.

Looking for a pre-built setup with 16GB RAM, an Intel 1060 graphics card, and a Ryzen 5 3600 processor. What kind of ready-made configuration are you thinking of?
