Hello everyone, I'm just starting out with this stuff (upgrading, overclocking, etc.). I'm not sure if it's even possible, so I'm trying to find out if I can upgrade my AMD APU E1-6010 (1.86 GHz) with an AMD R2 GPU to another APU. My laptop is a Lenovo G50-45 80E3 and it has the BGA769 socket. I've been looking for useful info, but most of what I find is too complicated or incomplete. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance!

E1 processors are attached directly to the motherboard. Unfortunately, the only option is to purchase a new computer for an upgrade.

You can detach the CPU using hot air, but you need a CPU with balls inside and check it carefully. Purchase a second motherboard to avoid damaging your original, and swap it out if the upgrade succeeds. Update your BIOS settings afterward. Make sure to obtain a CPU with balls before starting. Before proceeding, apply Kapton tape (around five layers). First, warm the CPU, then gently insert it with tweezers and remove it if it moves. Once the old CPU is removed, use a soldering iron and desolder wick carefully, keeping the motherboard light. Position the new CPU firmly and heat it up. Allow it to cool slightly before checking with tweezers—if solid, it should function. I don’t guarantee success. As mentioned, always bring a backup motherboard along. If this doesn’t help, let me know.
