Recently, while playing L4D2 with friends, I left the laptop idle for a short time. The screen began to glitch frequently and go black. Initially, I thought it was the iGPU failing. After shutting it down and restarting, it worked again in BIOS. However, after watching YouTube, it started glitching once more, even when I accessed BIOS. This suggests a hardware problem. I’m now considering whether to use my dedicated GPU (940x) for rendering instead of the iGPU, preferably through Windows fixes. VID20231105162256.mp4
I agree, likely the iGPU is responsible for showing the BIOS. Since iGPUs usually don’t fail, the issue probably lies elsewhere. The problem doesn’t seem to happen with the dGPU either.
I don't recall finding a setting to turn off the GPU in the BIOS. Even when accessing it, the display remains blank. The issue started with a new screen replacement. I connected an HDMI cable to my laptop, but the output kept glitching. When I tried using my phone via Moonlight mode, everything worked fine—making this situation unclear.
It doesn't seem to be the screen itself. Likely the issue is with the iGPU or the video processing before it reaches your display or HDMI port.
