Upgrade your Ryzen 5 1600 to a 5600X processor.
So I was thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 5600X from an older 1600 if I can find it. I wanted to check what others thought and ask some questions of my own. Right now I have a B350 ASRock Pro-M motherboard (I’ll probably switch to a B550 soon, not sure yet) with two 8-core Crucial RGB GPUs at 3200MHz. I mostly play esports games at 144Hz. In those games, my GPU usage stays around the low 70s, which is why I’m considering an upgrade. In my opinion, it might be a bottleneck when things get faster, but I’m not sure. Could it be better to upgrade the CPU first, or hold off and upgrade the GPU later? Also, if upgrading the CPU makes sense, what kind of motherboard would work best for the new setup? Thanks a lot for your advice!
That's the biggest obstacle I've encountered so far. A significant increase in performance is happening. First, you should refresh your system info and set up drivers. Then, consider using an X-series motherboard such as the ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero X570.
Thanks in advance, I'll definitely look into the mobile option.
I suggest the TUF Gaming X570 Plus with Wi-Fi mainly since it's more budget-friendly in some areas.
Because it's too much for such a large size. Just use a good b550 motherboard, like the MSI B550 A-Pro. It works with stock 5950X or higher and can handle overclocked 5900X models for around $140.
