Your i7-11700F could gain more performance with 32GB of 3600MHz RAM compared to 16GB at the same speed. The GPU remains the same, so the upgrade mainly boosts memory capacity.

As long as you utilize all available memory lanes (two in your scenario), the total RAM capacity hinges on your activities, not just your processor. Common daily activities and games usually don’t need extra memory beyond 16GB. However, specialized jobs such as video/photo manipulation, CAD design, and similar tasks can gain from higher amounts. From past experience, modded Cities Skylines also performs well with more than 16GB.
