I'm working with Gskill Ripjaws 5 on a 16 GB setup—two sticks, one at 2400MHz and the other at 3200MHz. Both are 8 GB each, totaling 16 GB. Since the slower stick is running at 2400MHz, both are effectively operating at that speed. Your question is whether you can boost the older stick to around 2933MHz or even push it to 3200MHz. You're right that the second stick doesn't need overclocking.
Checking XMP settings can improve performance. For manual tuning, it varies by CPU. With a strong iMC, aim for at least 2933 and test running both at 3200.
