The budget Gigabayte X570 looks great for your setup. I’m not sure if it’s superior to the $180 X470 options, but it fits your budget.
If the cost matches then I’d pick the X570. It’s not the most affordable overall, but the gaming version from Gigabyte is a good deal right now.
In my country the Asus X570 is priced around 230 dollars... In New York you can find the TUF version for 190 dollars. Comparing options, the Gigabyte and Asus Prime models might offer better value depending on your needs.
The 3700X offers more power than the 3600 for your requirements, and the savings you gain can be invested in a superior motherboard rather than cheaper options. High-quality MSI B450 boards also perform well with both the 3600 and 3700X. Gigabyte's VRMs for the X470 are subpar, and some Asrock products are unreliable. Generally, MSI remains the best choice in this price range.
I've already reviewed my options carefully and chose the 3700x. I believe it's not too much to ask, and it should handle both gaming and everyday PC tasks well. For the motherboard, I'm still deciding on the chipset—I don't want to overclock but need compatibility between components. The X570 might be a good fit, and the X470 could work too since I probably won't need PCI4.0 right now. If I plan to upgrade my GPU in a couple of years, it might be useful. What do you think?
Crossfire SLI is no longer supported, so having two GPUs might be useful only for competitive testing—likely not necessary. If budget allows, a board with an X470 or B450 chipset can be affordable, especially if you're okay with slower storage options. PCIe Gen 3 provides sufficient speed for most users. X470 boards generally offer better VRMs and additional features compared to the B450, though the latter has more ports like six SATA slots, five fan headers, three RGB headers, two ARGB headers, two 3.0 USB ports, a water pump header, and a temperature input header. The X570 handles most tasks well with third-gen Ryzen, while the BIOS update is important to consider if you want features like BIOS flashback, which some older boards lack.
These boards operate through the same four phases. If you prefer not to modify them, adding a 3900X with good airflow over the VRM heat spreader works well. Most users opt for the Tomahawk model because it balances power and features nicely. Note: Even without updates to 3000 ryzens, the BIOS flashback function remains available.

My current components are: Ryzen 7 3700X, Asrock X470, Taichi Nvidia GTX 1660TI, Skill Trident 2x8GB 3200 (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR), Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 550W, Samsung 970 Evo M.2 250GB SSD, and a 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. I’m considering cables and peripherals but want to ensure everything works smoothly. Since I’m new to building or overclocking, I’ll skip the high-end RAM for now.
