You're considering how to handle drivers for your new RTX 40 series GPU compared to your old Radeon 6000 series. It's a common question about the best approach during upgrades. Generally, it's recommended to uninstall and reinstall drivers for optimal performance and compatibility. This ensures you get the latest features and fixes. Let me know if you need more details!

For optimal results, start with DDU in safe mode prior to swapping out the existing card, adding the new one, and installing the driver. In real scenarios, a simple drop-in replacement usually works, but if problems appear early, revert to DDU to clear the old AMD drivers.

I suggest saving the file to your desktop or another place on your computer. Restart the system into Safe Mode. Start DDU and remove any existing graphics drivers. Turn off your GPU, replace it with a new one, and reinstall the drivers. After that, restart again and install the latest NVIDIA drivers.

I usually remove it using the official Windows uninstall tool first, restart, THEN run DDU as described.
