Hey everyone, I’ve got a Ryzen 5 2600 with 16GB DDR4 at 3200 MHz and a 4060 Ti SSD. Everything seems fine until I stream God of War for my girlfriend on Discord—suddenly it drops to around 20 FPS while the CPU is really busy. What should I do to boost performance? What’s the key factor to improve things?

I don’t have enough details about your needs, so it’s hard to suggest a specific CPU. Could you share more about your use case and requirements?

What motherboard do you have? A bios update and a 5700x would be pretty darn nice! A 5600x would work wonders too.

This motherboard is quite solid, and the BIOS version listed is P3.40. A BIOS upgrade would be necessary for the Ryzen 5000 series to function properly. You can find a list of compatible CPUs and their required BIOS versions on this site: https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/b450 steel legend/index.asp#CPU

Compare prices for Ryzen 5600x and 5700x on local sites. The 5700X3D looks promising but a bit pricey. Both 5600x and 5700x offer better performance than the 2700.

Refresh your profile details, run another test, and then consider getting a Ryzen 5700X along with an upgraded CPU cooler instead of the standard one for the 2600.
