I own a Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ADA05 with a failing Ryzen 3250u processor. I checked for a budget-friendly Ryzen 3700u board and discovered another identical-looking Ryzen 4700u from a similar model. The connectors seem to match, except possibly for a new CPU cooler. It looks like the boards should fit together without issues. The prices for both boards are likely the same. Here are the images of the two boards.
It should have 4GB DDR4 chips installed on both sides. I could give it a shot since it would be a significant improvement over the 3700u setting.
The main focus is the battery. Would the higher-powered models include a larger battery? Please confirm that the smaller unit can support the stronger parts.
45Wh instead of 35Wh means an extra 10Wh. It wouldn’t really matter much about the battery itself. It would probably end up being a great gift for my little brother to enjoy Minecraft, keeping it on AC most of the time.
I was checking the Ideapad 5 model instead of Ideapad 3. Both my units (15ADA05) and the new one (15ARE05) use a 35Wh or 45Wh battery, which should be okay. I also discovered another 15ADA05 with a damaged screen for 40€. I have a screen from an Acer Aspire 3, model NT156FHM-N61, 30 pin connector. Would it fit in the 15ADA05 since it uses the same connector? I don’t know much about laptop screens, but is the 30 pin design universal? Also, I just disassembled my 15ADA05 and found both screens share the same part number (NT156FHM-N61 V8). Looks like I was lucky after all. Edited December 30, 2024 by _Drekavac_ Additional info
