Running on an i5-6600k at 4GHz with a GTX 1660 Ti, I’m hitting trouble in demanding titles like Overwatch, Fortnite, and Warzone. Maintaining 144fps is becoming tough while the GPU stays busy at 60-70% and the CPU spikes to 90-100%. To keep things smooth, I usually play at the lowest settings for the highest FPS. I’m looking for a CPU upgrade that pays off in performance over the next couple of years.

Plan for Zen 3 (third quarter/quarter of this year). At the moment, the 6600k seems sufficient.

You can choose between two paths: 3600 or 10600k. If you prioritize gaming, go with 10600k because an overclocked version matches or exceeds a standard 10900k in performance within games.

Choosing a solid board that meets those needs would require an investment higher than just a 3600 and a replacement board.

From a MAX FPS standpoint, he didn’t talk about any budget. I don’t know if you’re familiar with these OW addicts—they seem to want every perk they can get (probably not me, right?)
